This year has again been overshadowed - despite hopeful developments in the summer - by Covid-19 and the associated restrictions and risks.
Many of you will have postponed trips, canceled appointments and postponed celebrations, just as we have done with the activities of the Family Federation. We finally had to cancel the Interfamily Day in Munich, which had been postponed to May 2021, and our annual meeting in Moers, usually with the Family Council and guests, could not take place either. So it was a sad year for our family activities. However, we remain hopeful and are planning our annual meeting for next year Family day in Moers and therefore cordially invite you to this for the weekend
Friday, September 30, through Sunday, October 2, 2022.
A rich program as well as time for conversations and social get-togethers with the family await you. A safety concept à la "2G+" (recovered, vaccinated, plus quick test) will ensure safe encounters from a health point of view. Please make a note of this date and encourage your offspring to participate. Family days are good opportunities to get to know the wider family. It would be nice if many "youngsters" of our family could meet each other. We are also looking forward to meeting you again. We will send you an invitation with the program and organizational details in spring.
We will try to organize an Interfamily Day in Munich again at another time, but in 2022 it will be Moers' turn again.
Our website is still under construction, but is now ready for you to visit. The internet address is:
The website consists of a publicly accessible area and a member area. Members of the family association can log in to the member area with a password.
We hope that you like our website and we are looking forward to your feedback. You can send us your feedback right from the website. You will find a "Contact" button at the top left of every page.
So far, everything is in order at the family cemetery, as Jörn Herold, our deserving cemetery commissioner, also reports. In September, Sabine Zahn was able to get a personal impression when she stopped by Moers on the occasion of Friedel Zahn's 99th birthday.
Sadly, our longtime cemetery consultant and "kindred spirit," Werner Riedel, passed away on June 4, 2021. He was buried in our family cemetery on June 12. We mourn with Erika Riedel and her children.
Thankfully, Werner and Erika's daughter-in-law, Thekla Lohbeck, has agreed to look after the cemetery on a regular basis. She lives nearby and is a master gardener and florist, so she has a green hand and also the expertise needed for this task.
At this point, as every year, again the request to motivate your closer relatives to become members of our family association or at least to get to know us, if not already done. First of all, contact data would be helpful for us, so that we can make ourselves known through our newsletters and invitations.
Stay healthy, let us hear from you and come in large numbers to our family day in Moers!
Wir wünschen euch eine schöne Adventszeit, Frohe Weihnachten und ein gesundes, glückliches Neues Jahr!
